Tools of the Trade

The feel of a really good pair of scissors

Snipping through linen,

Cool in your hand,

Crisp in their movement,

Pleasant to the eyes.

"Who made this wonderful tool?" I think.

A craftsman, like me, working with silver, steel, heat.

What harsh material to become -

Scissors sublime.

Only to be lost in the depths of the couch.
